Restaurant Review Cholita Linda – Latin Street and Comfort Food

Looking for a place to sink your teeth into some crunchy fish tacos or irresistible Cuban sandwich? Then Cholita Linda is the right place to be.

Located on  4923 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94609, Cholita Linda is a Latin American Restaurant like no other. It is not unusual to see a long line on the busy street trying to get their order in during the lunch break.

With a wide range of options to choose from the menu, I decided on the Baja Fish Tacos and the Papito. As I bit into my taco, the heavenly taste of authentic tortilla made me pause for a while to savoy the moment. Then the taste of the crunchy fish on strips of cabbage with a dash of cilantro complimented with Baja creme sauce was the perfect combination for the perfect meal.

If the Baja Fish Taco left me wanting more, then the Papito Sandwich sealed the deal. This shiny flaky bread laden with slices of tender steak, nicely fitted on caramelized onion, arugula, and fried plantains on Swiss cheese brought my taste buds to a carnival of celebration. I ate half of it, and saved the rest for later. It is the type of sandwich, I won’t want to waste on a half filled stomach.

Just as stunning as the food are the Aquas Frescas which is an assortment of juices ranging from mango, strawberry, passion fruit, and blackberry, which can be served in numerous combinations to give you the perfect blend.

In addition to serving in store customers, the staff is kept busy as they stuff numerous brown paper bags of take out orders.

Our meals for a party of 3 with the drinks came up to just above $50.00. If Cholita Linda can speed up their service, it will easily become a 5 Star place, but the food is worth the wait. It’s the kind of place that you will return to often.
